The Role
We will tailor the role to match the candidate’s experience and we expect the role to evolve as the company grows. The candidate will work closely with the CFO, external accountants, and real estate project managers to manage financial information. Main workstreams include preparing financial information for investor reports, updating real estate project budgets, overseeing accounting functions (payables, closing books), and financial analysis. There is ample opportunity to take on additional responsibilities in line with professional development goals. These could include real estate underwriting, asset management, and capital raising.
Corporate Finance
- Maintain and improve tools/reports to analyze and report out on the company’s financial position (e.g., cash flow projections, deal return metrics)
- Develop systems and quality control processes to help the company scale and ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial information
- Support compliance efforts (e.g., insurance, corporate governance, investor reporting)
- Support the CFO with managing the company’s performance-based compensation program
- Support the CFO with ongoing tax and capital strategies
Accounting
- Manage working relationship with external accountants
- Reconcile monthly bookkeeping
- Oversee accounts payable and invoice approval process
- Work with external accountants to generate necessary financial statements
Real Estate Project Finance
- Coordinate with project managers to update real estate project budgets, and prepare financial reports
- Prepare and distribute financial reports to investors and lenders
- Process investor distributions
- Support transactions team by curating necessary diligence items, coordinating with external partners, and managing investor subscriptions
Reading / Learning / Conferences
Real estate and technology are changing cities quickly. We want every member of our team to generate ideas that can improve our developments and the company. You are encouraged to travel, participate in professional organizations, and enjoy creative pursuits outside of work. The team convenes multiple times each year for substantive conversations, group bike rides, and strategic alignment.
Location
- Charlotte, NC strongly preferred (residency or relocation)
- Will consider San Francisco, New York, or remote for excellent candidates
Travel Expectations
- Convene with the CFO at least quarterly (mix of Charlotte, San Francisco, New York, elsewhere)
- Company offsites 2 times per year (including fun international locations)
- Potential site visits and research trips
- Occasional events and conferences

Compensation and Title
- Competitive and commensurate with experience
- All Space Craft employees are eligible to earn profit-sharing bonuses after an initial trial period
